That clash finally occurred on the July 28th on none other than “YSMM:Season 2’s” first airing.

Even before singer Lee Hyori has her comeback, netizens are already talking about the issue of plagiarism .

Recently, there are a lot of discussion about plagiarism involved in Lee Hyori’s album jacket, teaser poster and the MV for her title song ‘U-Go-Girl’.

First was her style - when Hyori’s album jacket was released the smokey makeup, thick supple lips look, and big hairdo looked too similar to the style of English singer Amy Winehouse.



And recently when the poster of Hyori’s 3rd album “Its Hyorish” was revealed, it was pointed out the concept looked very similar to that of Japanese actress Hoshino Akika’s modelling photoshoots. The teaser poster had Hyori posing nude for her upper body and with sports shoes handing around her neck and placed in the right places. This concept was similar to that of Hoshino Akikia’s photoshoot, and netizens point this to the issue of plagiarism.

This did not just stop here. When the MV of the title song “U-Go-Girl” was revealed on 12th July, many netizens pointed out how similer the concept of the MV was to that of American singer Christina Aguilera’s “Candy” MV.



From Hyori’s sexy image to, the scene at the restaurant bar with the back dancers, to the scene of the onlooking males in naval uniform.

Although netizens had pointed many relevant points to the cases of plagiarism in Hyori’s comeback MV and album jacket etc, Hyori’s company has denied all the claims.

A representative from Hyori’s company came out to clear the issue. The representative said that the smokey makeup and makeup style has been Hyori’s style since the beginning. And as for the MV, “U-Go-Girl” the director of the MV had came out and said that there was no imitation of any MV in Hyori’s MV.

Even though there has been a lot of denying and explaining regarding Hyori’s album and MV, netizens’ talks about the possible issue of plagiarism is expected to continue.

Hyori released her third album “It’s Hyorish” on 15th July. The album is doing very well on offline charts.

It was announced on one offline chart on the 20th July regarding the total record sales, and Hyori had taken Brown Eyes off the number 1 spot with sales of 12,487 copies sold.

The title song “You-Go-Girl” off the album “It’s Hyorish” is also doing very well online, occupying the number 1 position on various online music charts.

Lee Hyo Ri who will soon be releasing her 3rd solo studio album after a hiatus for the past two years, revealed a 30 secs MV preview clip and her album promotional poster which attracted the attention of fans and the public.

The album jacket for her third studio album “It’s HYORISH” was filmed in Hawaii with popular art elements from Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and other famous artists for a unique flavor. Everything was supposed to be revealed only tomorrow but the album has been leaked one day (today) before.

Lee Hyo Ri exited the music industry after concluding the promotions for her second album “Dark Angel” in 2006. She will make her comeback in July 2008.

It was announced today that fashion star Lee Hyo Ri and Hallyu star Song Seung Hun has become Mnet Media new image ambassadors with a new CF

Mnet hopes to promote it’s new slogan, “Beyond Music” using the new CF and move away from it’s fixed music video channel image. They want to nail home the point that there’s so much more than what music can only bring.

Mnet representative said, “Lee Hyo Ri and Song Seung Hun are undoubtedly the definitive icons of Korean entertainment culture. That’s why we chose them to endorse our new slogan. We felt that they can raise the image and profile of Mnet with maximum effect. We hope to project the image through them that Mnet is not simply just a music video channel but offers much more.

The CF theme is, “In the instant you know Mnet, your life becomes much more enjoyable”. The CF was filmed towards the end of March separately in Namyangju and Paju. Lee Hyo Ri starts moving to the music together with several dancers on a stage while Song Seung Hun filmed his short part pressing a jukebox on the streets. They don’t actually meet or film it together.

Finally, after 4 years since her 2nd album "L'Ordeur Original" was released, Ok Joo Hyun is coming back with her 3rd album at the end of May.

Senior singers in the industry like Kim Hyun Chul and Yoon Jong Shin participated in this album as well as top composers like Kim Do Hun, Jo Young Soo and Brown Eyes' Yoon Gun.

Ok Joo Hyun's music video for her 3rd album's title song was directed by Jo Soo Hyun, who also did the music video for MC Mong's "Circus" and Jewelry's "One More Time" and "Silence". 35mm cameras, which are mainly used in movie production, were used for the filming of the music video.

Lee Hyo Ri confessed in last night’s “Sang Sang Plus Season 2″ the truth about rumors linking her to different celebrities.

She was first asked who among her “scandal partners” was the most absurd one and Lee Hyo Ri answered that it was the one with Shin Dong Yup and Park Soo Hong. She also added that the rest of the rumors were true.

Hearing her answer, Shin Jung Hwan made a follow-up question and said, “There were only two which are not true?” Hyo Ri then replied, “Those were the absurd cases. There were other rumors that were entirely true but there were also others that were partly true.

Lee Hyo Ri was then asked about the truth on rumors on her relationships with actors.

She answered, “I didn’t have one with an actor.” Then after saying that, she took it back and said “I did have one with an actor,” an answer that resulted to a laughing moment.

Andy has once again fallen to the pranks of SBS “Change” after first experiencing it in the first episode with Lee Hyo Ri and Kangin

In SBS “Change” scheduled for this Sunday, April 27th, MC Mong turns himself into an uncle full of facial hair fooling Andy. MC Mong had in advance colluded with the “Change” hosts, informing Andy that Lee Hyo Ri was a MC of a yoga program on cable television and had invited him as a guest.

MC Mong then appeared on the show as a animal yoga instructor and started recording the scene with a hidden camera. Leee Hyo Ri and MC Mong started teaching the yoga moves to Andy and requested him to do some weird ridiculous moves like, grasshopper pose, barking like a dog, making frog and crow sounds, etc. An unsuspecting Andy did all the poses and sounds that MC Mong and Hyo Ri requested without knowing that this was a ruse.

MC Mong’s change and Andy’s yoga prank will be shown this Sunday on SBS.

Lee Hyo Ri is set to move in a 2 billion won villa, where she will be neighbors with other celebrities like Yoon Eun Hye and Chae Jung An.

In the afternoon of March 30, actress and singer Sung Yu Ri has organized her first fans meeting in 10 years joining the showbiz at Chung Ang University. There were more than 500 fans has participated in this meeting.

Fin.K.L member Song Yuri , celebrating her 10th anniversary in the showbiz industry, held her first solo fan meeting last March 30 at 2 pm at the Joongang University Art Hall. The event lasted for about 2 and a half hours with 500 fans, which also include fans from China and Hong Kong. Song Yuri explained that the reason why it took so long before she held her first solo fan meeting was because she wanted to stand in front of fans when she is already confident to do so.

It is going to be a battle of the sexy female singers in June for Lee Hyo Ri and IVY are planned to make their comebacks in that month. In February last year, the two also met the same field when Lee Hyo Ri released her digital single called “Toc Toc Toc” while IVY came out with her 2nd album entitled “A Sweet Moment.”

Lee Hyo Ri recently recorded a song entitled “Cat on a Roof” with bassist Jung Hae Hyung, who also composed and wrote the song.

On Mnet's "Off the Record," Lee Hyori has become the subject of the show "No Rival." The usual happy-go-lucky singer, whose smiling eyes have become her trademark, showed a different side of the singer. The show sheds light on the darker side of the 30-year-olds life: a life of emptiness and loneliness.

On the third episode of the show, Hyori is sending her long time coordinator to China to work for another singer. The singer always saw her coordinator as a younger sister, who she often teased and called "pig."

"Now who am I supposed to kick?" the singer joked trying to keep calm. "At the farewell party we're throwing for her, I will try not to show my sadness."

Lee Hyori was one of the first people to arrive at her coordinator's farewell party. And when she began reading a letter she wrote for her 'younger sister,' tears began to fall.

While at karaoke, the singer did her own rendition of GOD's "Lies," by singing "I no longer like you, I found another coordinator (니가 싫어졌어, 다른 코디가 생겼어)." The parody made the singer laugh for the first time. However, when she sang the lyrics "goodbye," and "don't leave," the tears fell again.

"When I knew 30% of Lee Hyori, I always thought she was tough and honest. When I knew 50% of her, I saw her tired side. Finally, when I knew 100% of Hyori, I started feeling pity for her." Ahn Ji-Hye, a friend of Hyori, said.

Lee started saying she knows that the people she works with will have to leave sooner or later, but she expressed that whenever it happened, she felt so heartbroken.
